The "That's What I Want" rapper is putting love on hold for now.
Looks like Lil Nas X is back on the dating scene again.
In a recent interview on Tuesday with out media personality Andy Cohen for his Radio Andy on Sirius XM show, the 22-year-old rapper opened up about his personal romantic relationships, revealing that he is no longer seeing the still-unidentified mystery boyfriend he previously alluded to in weeks prior.
"I was seeing someone, [but] I kind of decided I don't want to anymore," the "That's What I Want" songwriter told Cohen when asked about the current state of his dating life.
Being one of the most famous and visible popstars in the music world nowadays, Cohen wondered if men were lining up to shoot their shot with X.
"There are definitely a couple of people, for sure a couple of people out there," X said, though he then revealed that serious relationships aren't necessarily a big priority right now at this point in his life.
"Maybe I'm floating around right now," he continued. "I just want to work on music, and every now and then, you know, maybe I'll kiss a guy every blue moon."
Back in August, the "Industry Baby" rapper first revealed to Variety that after having a string of some bad, emotionally unavailable boyfriends, he has finally found someone special who he thought was "the one."
"I've had some good boyfriends and some bad ones," he told the trade publication. "A lot of them were emotionally unavailable or had a lot of insecurity and whatnot. But I've found someone special now."
He continued: "I think this is the one. I can't explain it -- it's just a feeling."
Later that month, in a separate interview with fellow queer musician and BROCKHAMPTON member Kevin Abstract for VMAN, X gushed even more about his relationship with this mystery man, and even gave details about how the two of them met.
"We met around the time that I was about to do the SNL thing. But we just started dating maybe two weeks ago," X revealed when asked by Abstract exactly when he met and started dating his beau.
When Abstract later went on to ask how it felt to be dating someone, and how it feels to not have to hide that part of yourself from the world, X said: "I feel like this is one of the best [relationships] yet. I'm really happy about it, and it all just feels natural. It's effortless."
Though he never officially revealed the identity of his now ex-boyfriend when they were seeing each other, many online stans theorize that X was seeing other than Colombian-born dancer Yai Ariza. After kissing X during the BET Awards in June and licking X's neck during his Saturday Night Live musical performance in May, fans had plenty of reason to believe Yai and X were a thing, especially after X posted a sneaky pic on his Instagram Story where he was getting cozy and cuddly with somone.
