Everyone wants to get to know record-breaking Jeopardy! champ Amy Schneider, and we're no exception!
GLAAD recently sat down for an interview with Schneider, who's win streak recently ended, to talk all things Jeopardy!, trans representation, and fashion. At one point, GLAAD asked Schneider what she's into, and she shared that one of the things she's a big fan of is HBO's popular, queer-inclusive teen drama Euphoria, especially the show's young star Hunter Schafer.
"I was lucky enough to meet Hunter Schafer at a publicity event for the first season, which was such a highlight," Schneider said. "Seeing her, in particular, recently has meant a lot - just seeing her introduced and her transness being secondary. I really liked the work that they've done with her."
She recalls telling Schafer how "meaningful" it was to see her at the event as a fellow trans person. "She said, 'I'm just glad there's some family here at this event.' I'll never forget that. It meant so much."
Schafer is one of the breakout stars of Euphoria, which has one of the most talented young casts on TV today. She had previously modeled, but Euphoria is her first acting role. She also recently co-wrote and produced an episode of the show focusing on her character, Jules.
Schneider has catapulted to fame after breaking Jeopardy! records with her 40 game win streak, the second-longest in the show's history. Only Ken Jennings, who is currently serving as the host of Jeopardy!, won more games in a row. Schneider's streak came to an end on Wednesday, when she lost to Rhone Talsma, a queer librarian from Chicago, but during her time on the show, Schneider won $1,382,800, the fourth most on the show's all-time rankings list, making her the winningest woman in Jeopardy! history.
GLAAD also talked to Schneider about other things, like what she is going to do with her prize money, how many outfits she brought with her to the tapings, who cooks more, Schneider or her girlfriend, and more.
