Have we finally figured out what went down between Cara Delevingne and Megan Thee Stallion at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards?
Back in May, the internet was aflutter about some suspicious behavior from model and actress Cara Delevingne while she was attending the Billboard Music Awards with rapper Megan Thee Stallion. Fans couldn't help but notice that Delevingne was seen creeping in the back of several photos and seemingly appeared out of nowhere to be behind Megan in almost every shot.

While much of the internet thought she was being a creeper, others, myself included, offered the suggestion that it might have been a date between the two women, and that Delevingne was simply simping for her Hot Girl Date.
“this could’ve been such a nice meg and doja moment but here comes cara all up in her face for no reason oh i’m pissed”— 🎧 (@🎧) 1652664723
But now, Delevingne has another explanation for what happened, and sadly, it's less titillating.
"I was in Vegas with friends, I really wanted to see [Megan] play and she asked me to come along with her," Delevingne explained on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. "I didn't know I was going to go and sit or do anything, I thought I was just going to come and watch her play. She had a speech she was going to do because she was winning an award, so I was helping her run her lines."
She also explained the infamous pictures of her holding the train to Megan's dress on the red carpet. "I was helping her and I was doing it, and I was going like, 'Yeah girl!' I was hyping her up, being a hype woman."
"I walked in and I had a seat in the front row, and I'm like, 'I'm not meant to be here,'" she continued, but she didn't apologize for her extra behavior. "That's what I do. I was just really excited...I was living my best life, but people found it a bit odd. People find me a bit odd, but that's me. No shame."
I think we'd all love to have a hypewoman as excited about her job as Delevingne!
So it doesn't necessarily seem like the two were on a date that night, as Delevingne says she just happened to be in the same town as Megan and it was a last-minute decision. Still, we think the two make a cute couple...
