Frankie Grande has taken a winding road to find love, but if he had listened to one legend, it might have been a little less complicated.
The 39-year-old dancer, singer, and YouTube personality married the love of his life, Hale Leon, earlier this year in an adorably nerdy, Star Wars-themed wedding, but not every relationship he's been in has been successful.
Before he found Leon, the reality TV star spent a few months in a throuple, despite being warned against it.
"I was talking to Madonna of all people -- talking to the queen -- and I told her about the throuple," Grande revealed to Tamron Hall. "She literally said, 'Well, that's not going to end well.' She said that, and I still did it."
Back in 2018, Grande announced that he had joined the throuple, dating a married couple.
"These are my boyfriends," Grande said at the time. "[We've been dating for] almost three months, but in the gay world, it's like five years."
Alas, a few short months later, Grande announced that the throuple was no more. "Thank you, next! I'm so bleepin' grateful for my exes," he said at the time, referencing his sister Ariana's big hit.
He said being in a throuple was "so complicated," and "you have double the highs, double the excitement... but also double the lows, double the drama." Still, he didn't regret joining the relationship.
"I'm super grateful for my last relationship," he said. "I grew so much in it, and at the same time, it wasn't working out anymore. I'm super glad that we decided to end things amicably. And that we can all remain friends ... that's the important thing."
All's well that ends well for Grande, but if only he had listened to Madonna, perhaps he would have avoided a little heartbreak. Maybe we should all take that into consideration, and next time we think about entering a new relationship, ask ourselves: What Would Madonna Do?
