On Wednesday, Netflix announced that Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda are teaming up for an original series, Grace and Frankie. The series will have Tomlin and Fonda go head-to-head as longtime rivals brought together when their husbands announce they are in love with one another and plan to get married.
At the helm of the series is Marta Kauffman, who is best known for creating Friends. The network has ordered 13 half-hour episodes, which will debut online sometime next year.
The news follows a string of LGBT-friendly programming on Netflix, including the bisexual congressman-turn-Vice President Frank Underwood on House of Cards, and Orange is the New Black.
Fonda was last seen in HBO's The Newsroom (going into its final season) and Lee Daniels' The Butler. Meanwhile, Tomlin recently got married to longtime partner Jane Wagner and appeared on Showtime's Web Therapy with Lisa Kudrow.
Now, is there any chance Dolly Parton can guest star so fans can get a 9 to 5 reunion?!
