The Palladium in Los Angeles was the scene of a music-meets-fashion party last night, hosted by Saint Laurent's now former creative director, Hedi Slimane.
Although the focus was Slimane's final fall-winter collection for the French label, the models were just an opening act. After the runway show, the venue turned into a rock festival, with Beck and Joan Jett as headliners, among numerous performers.
Since the show was rumored to be the last under Slimane's direction, attendance felt like a Who's Who of the entertainment world: Lady Gaga, Courtney Love, and the Kravitz clan made an appearance, and Justin Beiber was spotted with Vogue's Grace Coddington.
There was also people we're less used to seeing at Fashion Week: Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi and Lee Daniels all sat front row, rubbing elbows with Jane Fonda, Sky Ferreira, and the Fanning sisters.
The show didn't spare theatrics, and brought a sense of spark back to a season that felt dedicated to quick, minimalist presentations for fashion bloggers. This is fashion for the fearless.
