The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) honored the best and finest in fashion at their 15th annual Awards ceremony.

Hosted by Community's Joel McHale, the 2016 CFDA Fashion Awards ceremony awarded the top prizes to some safe bets.

The Womenswear Designer of the Year honors went to Marc Jacobs, who received his award from Claire Danes.

In men's design, Thom Browne won the Menswear Designer of the Year award from the hands of the ever-handsome Alexander Skarsgard.

Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel for Mansur Gavriel, who recently featured trans model Hari Nef in a campaign, took home the Accessory Designer of the Year Award, which was presented by Broad City's (and Out cover stars) Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson.

Later, ethereal thespian Tilda Swinton took the stage to accept a tribute award in honor of her friend David Bowie. Swinton read a heartfelt letter which paid homage to Bowie and his wife Iman, on what would have been the couple's 24th wedding anniversary. Watch her speech, below:

This year, Beyonce was presented the Fashion Icon award by CFDA chairwoman Diane von Furstenberg. The singer wore a bedazzled Givenchy suit and a large hat, echoing her look in "Formation," her stunt single from Lemonade.

In her acceptance speech, Beyonce remembered her Destiny's Child days and how difficult it was at the time for "four black country curvy girls" to get high-end designer gear. Watch Beyonce's speech, below, and scroll down to see the full list of winners.

The three Swarovski Awards for emerging talent went to:

Brandon Maxwell for Womenswear

Alex, Matthew, and Samantha Orley, of Orley, for Menswear

Paul Andrew for Accessory Design

The Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Norma Kamali by Michael Kors.

The Founder's Award in honor of Eleanor Lambert was presented to Donna Karan by Calvin Klein.

The Media Award in honor of Eugenia Sheppard was presented to Imran Amed of The Business of Fashion

Alessandro Michele, creative director of Gucci, was recognized with this year's International Award, presented by Anna Wintour.

Highlights from the 2016 CFDA Fashion Awards show program and red carpet coverage hosted by Zanna Roberts Rassi will be featured on Cfda.com on Tuesday, June 7th.
