RuPaul Drag Race Season 7 Winner Violet Chachki has become the first drag queen to star in a major lingerie campaign. In partnership with Bettie Page Lingerie, Chachki and her Page-inspired persona have come full circle with the Queen of Pinup's lingerie line.
The '50s retro queen meets vintage bourgeois in the "Never The Girl Next Door" collection. Featuring corsets and bustiers, spiral bullet bras and satin robes, Chachki has described the new collection as a "vintage lover's must have."

Chachki furthered spoke on the collection, citing her beacon of inspiration as the blue eyed Miss January of 1955, herself, Bettie Page.
"[Bettie Page] was a huge inspiration for my drag character," Chachki told Hollywood Reporter. "I often tell people that when I started drag, I was basically just cosplaying as Bettie Page. This campaign is really a full circle moment for me!"

Chachki spoke on the campaign's social relevance and subsequent impact on the often exclusive mainstream fashion industry with Refinery 29.
"It's interesting to see where we fit in," Chachki said. "It definitely is a risk to include any gender-nonconforming person in a campaign, a show, or whatever it may be. Because it has to be on-brand for them. But there are so many brands out there I know that would never touch drag."

Despite these negatives of the industry, Chachki feels the gender free-inclusive line will bring some positivity to the lingerie world.
"That's exactly what a project like this does," Chachki said. "Visibility and just simply taking up space in media lead to questions, which lead to conversation, which lead to progressive thought and change."
With prices starting at $28, "Never The Girl Next Door" is now available at bettiepagelingerie.com.
