As one journey ends, others are certainly beginning.

Right now, Billy Porter is in the finale lap for Pose, the show that helped secure him an Emmy and brought him into homes all across the world. The next episode of the series will zero in on the life of his character Pray Tell as he journeys back to his hometown to see his family and seemingly a former lover. But Porter also has a few other things in store for us.

After announcing some time in 2019 that he was set to play the role of Fairy Godmother in the Camilla Cabello-led remake of Cinderella, the feature film has now revealed a first look of the star in a look from the production. In it, he appears in what seems to be an ornate and embellished belted gown.

In 2020, Porter told the world that he would be turning the role genderless.

"You know, it hit me when I was on set last week, how profound it is that I am playing the Fairy Godmother -- they call it the Fab G," he said in an interview. "Magic has no gender."

"We are presenting this character as genderless -- at least that's how I'm playing it," he continued. "And it's really powerful."

The film will be released through Amazon Studios in September. In addition to Cabello and Porter, it features James Corden, Idina Menzel, Pierce Brosnan, Minnie Driver, and Nicholas Galitzine. Corden is also a producer.

This isn't the only project with children in mind: earlier this week it was announced Porter would voice a character in the Proud Family reboot.
