The knives... they are out again!
Writer and director Rian Johnson is taking us back to the Knives Out universe with the brand-new sequel Glass Onion starring Daniel Craig as the gay detective Benoit Blanc.
The star-studded cast of Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery features Janelle Monae (Andi), Kathryn Hahn (Claire), Edward Norton (Miles), Leslie Odom Jr. (Lionel), Jessica Henwick (Peg), Madelyn Cline (Whiskey), Kate Hudson (Birdie), and Dave Bautista (Duke), among others. However, little is known about each of these characters so far.
In this first full trailer of Glass Onion, it is established that tech billionaire Miles wants his birthday party to revolve around a game of murder mystery, which prompts him to invite detective Benoit Blanc. And yet, it appears that this "game" turns into a very real situation and investigation as the night goes on.

Writer and director Johnson said in a release:
"The mystery is not going to be what keeps the audience in their seats. Remember first and foremost that you're making a movie and that it has to dramatically work before it intellectually works as a puzzle. That's actually still the hard part: creating a good story that feels unique and feels exciting and emotionally feels satisfying at the end."
When it comes to reprising his role from the first Knives Out movie, Craig remarked:
"We had such an amazing cast in the last one and I didn't know how we were going to top that, but we've equaled it. The working experience, just to come on set and make these movies is such fun."
Following the massive critical and commercial success of Knives Out, we are certainly looking forward to Glass Onion - and it certainly helps that the film will be inclusive of LGBTQ+ actors and characters as well!
Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery premieres December 23 on Netflix.
