One of the most hotly-anticipated movies of the year will be making its debut in Canada.
My Policeman, a historical drama starring Harry Styles as a gay policeman embroiled in a love triangle, will make its world premiere at this year's Toronto International Film Festival in September.
In the film, Styles plays a gay cop named Tom in the 1950s who is in love with a museum curator named Patrick (David Dawson), but because homosexuality wasn't accepted, or legal, at the time, he marries a teacher named Marion (Emma Corrin).

The movie also flashes forward to the 1990s, where an older Tom (Linus Roache) is living a life full of regret and longing with his wife (Gina McKee). Then, Patrick (Rupert Everett) comes back into their lives, giving Tom another chance at finding true happiness and love. According to TIFF's description, the movie "carves a visually transporting, heart-stopping portrait of three people caught up in the shifting tides of history, liberty, and forgiveness."
The movie, based on Bethan Roberts' novel of the same name, is directed by Michael Grandage and is produced by Greg Berlanti, along with his husband Robbie Rogers and his producing partner Sarah Schechter.
Styles has previously said that the movie will contain several "saucy" gay sex scenes and a nude scene for his character, leading fans to be waiting with bated breath for the film to come out.
TIFF, which is being held September 8-18, already has a stacked lineup of films, including Billy Eichner's gay rom-com Bros, Viola Davis' historical epic The Woman King, and Rian Johnson's Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.
Following its festival premiere, My Policeman will be released in select theaters on October 21 and will stream on Amazon Prime Video on November 4.
