Last summer, Emily Blunt was passed the umbrella of the magical, whimsical Mary Poppins. Blunt will star as the magical nanny, played by Julie Andrews to great acclaim, in "Mary Poppins Returns," a sequel to the original classic.
Late this week, we got our first look of Blunt as Poppins.
In the sequel, Poppins returns to see Michael and Jane Banks, now adults in depression-era England, to help them recover after a personal loss. In the first look, it seems Blunt has captured perfectly the silhouette of the iconic nanny, but the magic does seem a little dimmer this time--perhaps because of the ore adult tone of the sequel.
The movie has a release date of Dec. 25, 2018.
