The movie tells the story of a small town turned upside down when details from each of the residents' private digital lives end up public knowledge.

In a Sundance that's been uncharacteristically lacking in distribution sales deals, one exciting film has bucked the trend and been purchased for $10 million plus: Assassination Nation, the social media thriller starring Hari Nef, Abra, Suki Waterhouse, Colman Domingo, Bella Thorne, Odessa Young, and Anika Noni Rose, has been acquired by Neon & AGBO.

The film marks former OUT 100 honoree Nef's feature debut. Directed and written by Sam Levinson, the movie tells the story of a small town turned upside down when details from each of the residents' private digital lives end up public knowledge. Specifically the film follows four social media-savvy teen girls who arm themselves after being exploited by the hacker.

Neon has made waves since opening just over a year ago for it's Oscar-nominated I, Tonya--AGBO is the production company founded by Joe and Anthony Russo, the directors of Captain America: Winter Soldier.

Per Variety'sreport, Assassination Nation is one of only a few major deals secured so far at Sundance. Keira Knightley's historical drama Colette has reportedly sold for $4 million to 30West and Bleecker Street, and the Jon Cho thriller Search has been nabbed by Sony for $5 million.
