It's the crossover event of 2023! R&B star Omar Apollo and eclectic singer-songwriter SZA are going on tour together!
Apollo shared his debut album Ivory earlier this year, which includes the Daniel Cesar collab "Invincible" and the now TikTok smash hit song "Evergreen." With it, the out singer-songwriter just secured his first Grammy nomination for Best New Artist, and we couldn't be prouder.
After a five-year wait, SZA's long-awaited sophomore album dropped last Friday and set social media ablaze. The pop culture phenomenon's first album hasn't left Billboard's Top 200 chart since it debuted in 2017 and is now thought of as a modern classic.
The hype for her follow-up album was high, and S.O.S. delivered. It features 23 songs, including previous singles "Good Days," "Shirt," and "I Hate U," and several new tracks that have already gone viral on TikTok and Twitter, like "Blind" and "Kill Bill." The album is projected to hit #1 on the Top 200 chart next week, making it her first to do so.
SZA announced the tour earlier this morning on her Instagram.
"Time to take this shit on the road!" she wrote, noting Apollo as the special guest.
Oh they're going to take our hearts out and stomp on them, aren't they?
The North American leg of the S.O.S. tour kicks off next Spring in Colombus, Ohio and wraps up in Los Angeles, California.
Apollo celebrated the news with a simple message on social media, inciting excited reactions from fans and celebrities alike. "OMG you two together," Disney Channel star Matthew Scott Montgomery wrote. "u know exactly what you're doing."
Tickets go on sale this Friday on Live Nation. Who's ready to cry together?
