The only time you won’t see RuPaul in full eleganza or a slim, bright suit is when he’s recast in Grant Wood’s classic farmscape.
In an exclusive illustration for OUT, artist Thomas Allen paid homage to American Gothic and Ru's gender-bending dual identities in one fell, fabulous swoop.
In 1993, with the help of mega-producer Giorgio Moroder, Ru teamed with Elton John for a spirited remake of John's "Don't Go Breaking My Heart," first recorded with Kiki Dee in 1976. We'd call it Ru's most flamboyant duet... if not for those ones with Michelle Visage.
