A 22-year-old getting elected mayor of a working-class Irish Catholic New England community is one thing. The fact that he did it while being completely open about his sexuality is downright extraordinary. Morse, mayor of Holyoke, Mass., managed to pull it off while remaining grounded and, in the process, is setting an example for a generation of young men and women.
