Now that Mad Men has ended its lauded run, we'll never truly know what happened to gay art director Sal Romano. Last seen cruising in a park in season three, the beloved character was never given closure, and neither were Mad Men fans. And, it turns out, neither was the show's creator, Matthew Weiner.

Entertainment Weekly writer Anthony Breznican got his mitts on Weiner's "wish list" detailing plot points he hoped to resolve before the final episode faded to a coked out black.
Bryan Bratt, the openly gay actor behind the secretly gay Sal, had high hopes for Mr. Romano.
I like to think later down the line, Sal finally realizes, 'I can't do this anymore... as much as I love you, Kitty,' Then, he puts on the kaftan and gets a Yorkshire Terrier.
God knows I never met a kaftan I didn't wear, but maybe it's best we don't know what happened to Sal. That way we can make up our own endings. I like to think Sal was the landlord of the building that housed these queens that made a cameo this season.
Seconds after Don left, Uncle Sal came down with champagne and they watched a rerun of All About Eve on the tube, during which Sal kept instructing the children on the importance of a bitchy comment, spilling champagne everywhere and on everyone. And then they did it. Because it's the '70s and those gays were late on the rent.
The end.
