This ain't fiction, just a natural fact.
The Late Late Show's James Corden is literally doing everything I would do if I had a late night TV show. Belting it out in cars with my favorite divas, grinding on Frankie and Grace, hanging out with David Beckham in our underwear. But this is some next level of wish fulfilment shit.
Remember when Paula Abdul was the biggest pop star on the planet? Forever Your Girl was a multiplatinum phenomenon for the former Laker girl turned Janet Jackson choreographer, buoyed by four number one hits including "Straight Up," "Cold Hearted" and "Opposites Attract" featuring one MC Skat Kat.
Though Skat Kat's career was short-lived (how long can you possibly keep turning out hits when your name invokes super dirty sex), "Opposites Attract" remains a classic -- not just of great pop music but of terrible pop music videos.
Seriously, who thought this was appropriate? I mean, I get it. Who Framed Roger Rabbit? was still all the rage, paving the way for 2D-3D-interspecies coupling, but why take up with someone named Skat Kat, PDubs?
Still, it's good to see Paula and the MC together again, if only in spirit, thanks to James Corden.
Meanwhile, at 53, Paula Abdul looks great and mama's still got the moves.
And that white bell-bottomed jumpsuit with a dramatic shoulder is the best thing that's happened to her in the past 25 years. Forever our girl!
