The iconic movie Mean Girls will have its first-ever stage musical adaptation in the fall of 2017 in Washington D.C.
The news came in a tweet on October 3, a historic day in the movie that is now unofficially Mean Girls Day.
Tina Fey previously stated that the musical was in the works, but was unsure on when we would get the final product.
"My husband, Jeff Richmond, and I [and lyricist] Nell Benjamin have been working on it," Fey said during the Tribeca Film Festival.
She initially hoped that it would be completed by the show's 15th anniversary in 2019, but it looks like Christmas will be coming early next year.
