Mariah Carey to Heal Jamal, Generally Fix Empire

Angel among us and noted actress Mariah Carey is bringing her healing presence to the third season of Empire, whose second season has been all but written off by everyone involved with it.

Mariah plays Kitty, a superstar and old friend of Cookie's that the Lyon-ess brings in to help Jamal after he got shot last season when the show started to get good again.

"She's the one that sees everybody's always telling Jamal what to do," Jamal, aka Jussie Smollett, tells Entertainment Weekly. "From Lucious to Cookie to the media to his fans. Kitty is a person who's a much bigger star than Jamal and she's there to kind of be like, 'Stop. He's human.'"

Well, if there's anyone who can really bring people down to earth, it's Mariah Carey.

Meanwhile, I feel let down by the internet. Apparently the trailer for Mariah's World--Mimi's long anticipated reality "special"--dropped like a month ago and I have to find out from '80s heartthrob and "I still would" Mario Lopez on Extra like it's 2003 or some shit?

Not to oversell this or anything, but Mariah's World looks like the most important thing to air on television this or any other year.
