RuPaul’s Drag Race Boosts Streaming for Whitney Houston, Dolly Parton & More

RuPaul

Ru's unstoppable.

If you want to see a great drag queen, watch RuPaul's Drag Race. If you want a major album boost, have one of those great drag queens sing your hit. After a historic eight Emmy nominations, Ru got some more great news: featuring a song on his show will increase its streaming statistics by at least 10 percent.

After this season finale, "So Emotional" by Whitney Houston bumped an impressive 650 percent in streaming. But that isn't the most amazing increase that resulted from the queens--after being performed by Farrah Moan and Alexis Michelle, Dolly Parton's "Baby I'm Burning" bounced 2,114 percent in all streaming platforms.

Not only do streaming rates increase, but sales do, as well. "Greedy," "So Emotional," "It's Not Right," Woman Up," and "Cool For The Summer" all sold a minimum of 1,000 copies the week they were performed on RuPaul's Drag Race, according to Billboard.

The ladies are snatching wigs, snatching Emmys, and snatching sales. We're shook.
