Tom Hardy Stars As the Troubled 'Venom' Alongside Michelle Williams & Riz Ahmed

The teaser trailer for Marvel's upcoming new film Venom is here, which stars Tom Hardy as the troubled, more sinister friend of Spider-Man, Eddie Brock, in his own origin film.

Based off of the trailer, it seems the movie is something of a sci-fi horror-thriller. We see Hardy being apparently analyzed in a hospital, while his costar, The Night Of's Riz Ahmed looks eagerly over what appears to be a science experiment in danger of going horribly wrong. Michelle Williams also stars in the film, making a rare blockbuster appearance outside of her normal choice of indie dramas.

Venom is directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, Gangster Squad) and comes out October 5. As far as superhero blockbusters go, we have to say the casting of this one makes it well worth the wait.
