In a post he said he has "made peace" with the situation.
Gay adult film star Jessie Colter has been diagnosed with an incurable form of brain cancer, he revealed on social media this week.
"Please don't be sad or upset for me," he said in a statement posted on Twitter Wednesday. "I've already made peace with this. What I need now more [than] tears and sympathy is smiles and happiness. What I need now is feeling good and feeling loved, laughing and spending time with people who I care about."
He received the diagnosis on Valentine's Day, he said, and "struggled with making this post but I feel it's only fair to be open and honest."
He said he's not sure how much longer he will live. "I could be around for a couple of years or couple of decades, but I need to be realistic," he wrote. "I've lived an incredible life, a life most people dream of having, and for that I am very fortunate and grateful." He turned 38 the day before he posted, and plans on making the most of whatever time he has left.
Colter has performed in gay adult films for more than a decade, XBiz notes. He has worked for Hot House Video, Icon Male, Kink.com, Lucas Entertainment, Men.com, TitanMen, Raging Stallion Studios, and more. The performer, who grew up in small town Kentucky, has won awards including a Grabby and has been nominated for multiple GayVNs.
