Though RuPaul is undoubtedly the most well-known drag queen in history, it's become clear to many of us through interviews that Ru does not like actually being in drag. She's said that as you get older it gets harder. The art form is a job to her now, a job that she outsources many aspects of: hair to Curtis William Foreman, makeup to Raven, and looks to Zaldy. This isn't a slight or to say that Ru can't do her own drag -- we're sure that everything is being done in close collaboration -- but its just a fact. The result is that when you see mama Ru in drag, you better catch her while you can.
Given that time is money, recently RuPaul has been filming and photographing various projects in the same looks she plans to wear or has worn on Drag Race. If you see the longtime host all dolled up in a taped appearance, you can most likely spot some part of the RuPaul's Drag Race set behind her.
Here, we've combed through some of those recent appearances, counted back to what was likely filming around that time, and projected what season we will see the looks on.
While this dress was first seen on Saturday Night Live, the full look was first scene in the season 13 trailer.
First seen in a social media video for the Emmy's talking about Drag Race.
(This could also be a Drag Race season 13 look.) First seen in an Emmy's acceptance speech.
This could appear in series 2. The look was first seen in a teaser for series 3.
