After appearing to exchange a kiss, the chatter has really ramped up.
Season 11 of RuPaul's Drag Race was a fun one. It gave us one of the most iconic lip syncs to date with Brooke Lynn Hytes and Yvie Oddly. And it gave us Branjie, the series' first onscreen queen-on-queen romance -- this isn't to invalidate cross season romances like Sahara Davenport and Manila Luzon or Alaska Thunderfuck and Sharon Needles. But, in the case of kai kai on set, it seems the show is going back to that well.
For the past few weeks, some of the fandom has been poring through footage, photos, and social media posts to deduce what they believe to be a relationship between competitors Gigi Goode and Crystal Methyd. It started, according to JakeyonceTV, a popular YouTuber that covers internet drama and gossip, after Goode said the pair "may or may not be dating" on an Instagram Live. Methyd would later say that she was quarantined with her boyfriend -- who is decidedly not Goode.

On multiple occasions the fans have tried to confront the pair with the question: in a clip that's posted to Twitter, Methyd is answering submitted questions on Instagram when she opens one mistakenly opens one asking if the pair are dating. She quickly swipes to the next one. But now, with footage of Methyd and Goode holding hands and even seemingly exchanging a kiss on the lips, things seem all but confirmed -- it should be noted that their lips don't exactly touch, but they are also in full drag which makes it a bit difficult. Goode has gone so far as to post fan art of the two, described as "soulmates" onto Instagram.
"Right now we'd like to keep our private life private," Methyd told Jakeyonce. "I can't put into words how I feel about Miss Goode. Just know we are soulmates." Well then!
Most of the most hardcore fans have come to the conclusion that the pair are not actually dating but have essentially crafted a narrative for PR -- we saw how much merch that Hytes and Mateo sold. And while that's a pretty good assessment, please don't mind us as we root for this storyline as long as it lasts.
And if they, as a pair, are leaning into it, why not?!
