It's Gay Christmas Eve! With Halloween coming up this weekend, you might be scrambling to get a last-minute costume idea. But we know even procrastinators want to look their best and impress their friends. So with that in mind, we've put together this list of 13 last-minute queer costumes for you!
Dress up like some of our favorite queer icons from TV, movies, real-life, and pop culture this year and show the world that queers rule Halloween. Here are some of our favorite queer costume ideas for 2021!
1. Kristen Stewart as Princess Diana in 'Spencer'
Buy a blonde bob wig, put on the fanciest mini skirt and blazer you can find, and cover yourself in pearls. Carry around an Oscar trophy for bonus points, and you're Kristen Stewart starring as Princess Diana in the new movie Spencer. KStew is sure to get an Oscar nomination and you're sure to get lots of compliments.
2. Agatha All Along
With a '50s houswife wig and dress and your best Kathryn Hahn impression, you can be Agatha Harkness from WandaVision when she reveals she's been behind every evil thing that happened! She's insidious, and you can be too!
3. The Iceberg That Sank the Titanic
To recreate Bowen Yang's iconic SNL look as the Iceberg That Sank the Titanic, put on a white suit and gloves with an icy blue turtleneck. Add some facepaint and blue lipstick, and put on your sassiest, most defensive attitude. Making the iceberg hat might be a little hard, but some cardboard or styrofoam and spray paint will do in a pinch!
4. Elvira
The ultimate Halloween icon came out this year!!! Now that Elvira is evern more of a queer icon, this is the perfect costume for femmes, drag queens, and everyone who wants to get glammed up. Find a black beehive wig and the most cleavage-baring black dress you can pull and you've got a costume!
5. Chucky
Created by gay filmmaker Don Mancini, Chucky has always been a horror icon, and in his new show on SyFy and the USA Network, he's starring opposite a 14-year-old gay boy. Buy a red wig and give it a severe chop, put on a cute striped t shirt and some overalls, and you're Chucky!
6. Carl Nassib
The NFL's first out gay player makes the perfect costume for jocks this year! Simply put on a Raider's jersey and some football pads and you're Carl Nassib!
8. Laszlo Cravensworth from 'What We Do in the Shadows'
Our favorite pansexual vampire, Laszlo always dresses to the nines, so make sure you find the most austentatious vest and overcoat that exist and put on a fake beard (if you don't already have one). Don't forget the vampire fangs!
9. Loki
With just some khaki slacks, a neat buttun up shirt and tie, and a light jacket, you can be bisexual god of mischeif Loki! Add a collar to make your costume even more sexy, and make sure you flirt with every other person dressed like you!
10. 'Silk Chiffon'
Put on any silk chiffon clothes you can find, or simply wrap yourself in the fabric and you're this year's number one sapphic anthem by MUNA ft. Phoebe Bridgers, "Silk Chiffon!"
11. JoJo Siwa
Find the most colorful, sparkly, and glitter-covered clothes you can find, put your hair in a big top-and-side ponytail and add a giant bow and you're sapphic icon JoJo Siwa!
11. Elliot Page at the Met Gala
The perfect costume for trans masc folks and twinks! Put on a slightly oversized suit, and add a green flower to your lapel (inspired by Oscar Wilde, who used the flowers as a symbol for gay men when homosexuality was still illegal) and you're this year's most talked-about Met Gala look!
12. Fanny Brice
Now that Beanie Feldstein has been cast in the role in the show's first ever Broadway revival, legendary comedian Fanny Brice is about to become a even more of a queer icon. All you need is a fur coat, pillbox hat with a feather and all the attitude you can muster.
13. 'Q-Force'
Get your friends together and dress up like the year's best animated queer show! For Deb all you need is a mechanic's jumpsuit, Agent Merryweather wears tight pants and a polo, Stat wears a black hoodie, skinny jeans and an alt haircut, and for Twink, just dress in drag. Bam! You're Q-Force!
