Horror Comes to Provincetown in First AHS: Double Feature Trailer

Sarah Paulson in ahs double feature

"Something weird is going on here, and I want to know what it is."

We've got the first official trailer for the newest season of American Horror Story, the highly-anticipated Double Feature, and it's looking like it's going to be one creepy trip to the coast.

In the first look for part one of Double Feature, entitled "Red Tide," we see a happy couple move into Provincetown, where things get pretty unhappy very quickly. The trailer shows us Finn Wittrock and his pregnant wife Lily Rabe moving to Provincetown, to get a new start and help Wittrock's writing career.

Wittrock heads down to a local tavern where he meets Evan Peters and Frances Conroy and tells them he's struggling with writer's block. "I've been coming out here to write for a few years now," Peters tells him, "This place inspires us."

"There's nothing more addictive than success," Conroy says later in the trailer, "You taste it, and you'll never be able to live without it."

Soon, we see how serious Peters was, as Wittrock's character is feverishly typing on his computer, looking very much like "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy."

It doesn't seem like sirens are the only problem in Provincetown. You've gotta watch out for the locals as well.

The trailer also gives us our first look at AHS newcomer Macaulay Culkin! We don't know much about his role, but here, Leslie Grossman is talking to him and says "something weird is going on here and I wanna know what it is."

We also see glimpses of Angelica Ross in a lab coat examining a bullet, a creepy kid playing a creepy violin sting, and body parts washing up on the shore.

And then there's the legend Sarah Paulson. She's only seen in a few glimpses, once running in fear, and another time walking down the beach with her face seemingly covered in blood. (God, I can't wait to see what she does!)

Conroy, Peters, and Wittrock all also have different weapons at different points of the trailer, showing that the sirens aren't the only problem in Provincetown. You've gotta watch out for the locals as well.

In fact, the much-touted sirens barely get any screen time in this trailer, showing that this season is going to be packed to the brim with terror.

American Horror Story: Double Feature premieres August 25 at 10pm on FX, and is streaming the following day on FX on Hulu. The first part of the season is titled "Red Tide" and takes place in Provincetown. The second part, titled "Death Valley," takes place in a desert.
