Schitt's Creek may have ended its award-winning run last year, but that doesn't mean we've seen the last of the Rose family!
After briefly reuniting and stealing the show at this year's 73rd annual Primetime Emmy Awards this past weekend, the popular and critically-acclaimed comedy series' stars and co-creators Dan and Eugene Levy are going to be taking the stage again, this time at New York's Beacon Theatre next month on October 25 for a live event promoting their newest book Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: The Story of Schitt's Creek.
"How do you follow a fun Rose family reunion at the Emmys?? With this!" Eugene said on Twitter, announcing the event (a hybrid of in-person and virtual live-stream) to fans. "The event will also be live-streamed for those fans who cannot attend in person. See you on the 25th!!"
Word of the new book event comes on the heels of unfortunate news from earlier this year where the North American Schitt's Creek farewell tour was canceled due to health and safety concerns related to the resurging global pandemic.
"When we postponed the Schitt's Creek: The Farewell Tour, we had every hope and intention of traveling to see you later this year," Dan shared in a statement on Instagram back in August. "However, despite our best efforts to reschedule while keeping your health and safety at the forefront, we've found that state and local mandates vary too widely to do so in the near future."
He continued: "So, we have made the difficult decision to cancel all tour dates that were scheduled pre-pandemic."
Dan and Eugene also announced that they are immediately refunding all tickets purchased to the tour, and apologized profusely, promising to try again for something in the future. The statement was signed off in the classic Schitt's Creek way, "best wishes and warmest regards."
While it's not a full tour, we'll take any opportunity for more Schitt's Creek content that we can get!
Tickets for Dan and Eugene's one-night-only Best Wishes book event go on sale this Friday, September 24, with presale starting this Thursday, September 23.
