After teasing us throughout 2022, HBO blessed us with another look at Euphoria creator Sam Levinson and singer The Weeknd's anticipated new, pop music-themed drama series The Idol. The upcoming show follows a young, beautiful, up-and-coming pop star named Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp) as she navigates Hollywood and a complicated relationship with a self-help guru/cult leader (The Weeknd). Thankfully, The Idol will feature a bunch of our favorite queer celebs.
Scroll through to meet the LGBTQ+ cast members who are appearing on HBO's The Idol.

Transparent alum and model Hari Nef is one of The Idol's LGBTQ+ cast members, but this isn't her first time working with co-creator Sam Levinson. The trans actress (who is also slated to appear in Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie's highly-anticipated love-action Barbie film next year) played one of the lead roles in his action-packed 2018 black comedy Assassination Nation (which he wrote and directed) as well!

We already knew gay pop icon Troye Sivan (Three Months, Boy Erased) was starring in The Idol after seeing him in the first teaser trailer, but the newly released second teaser is showing us even more of his acting chops.

The Emmy-winningSchitt's Creek star and co-creator has been booked and busy as of lately! Besides recently announcing a surprise role in the upcoming fourth season of Netflix's teen drama Sex Education, Levy is also co-starring in The Idol, which we really didn't see coming (since the project is such a departure from the more heartwarming, wholesome stuff in his filmography), but we're glad is happening anyway.
