Bow down -- Emperor Lee Pace is back in the building.
The official season 2 sneak peek for Apple TV+'s sci-fi series Foundation is here and has us on the edge of our seats waiting for the season to come out. The series is based on Isaac Asimov's award-winning stories and follows a "band of exiles on their unprecedented journey to rebuild civilization amid the fall of the Galactic Empire."
Pace plays Brother Day, one of the three clone emperors of the Genetic Dynasty. The two other clones are Terrance Mann as Brother Dusk and Cassian Bilton as Brother Dawn. The show is adapted by David S. Goyer.
Foundation also stars Jared Harris as mathematician Dr. Hari Seldon, Lou Llobell as Seldon's protegee Gaal Dornick, Leah Harvey as Salvor Hardin, Laura Birn as Demerzel, and Alfred Enoch as Raych.
The trailer shows Dornick waking up in a spaceship orbiting a planet. She initiates re-entry and is soon careening towards the ocean-covered planet in a small escape pod.
"It was always a leap of faith. Leaving the comfort of home." she says in a voiceover. "Though the journey was long, the mission of the Foundation had only just begun."
It seems that the crisis averted in season one was just the first of several.
Of course, Mr. Pace is looking GREAT in the trailer, still serving full Intergalactic Emperor Daddy. We see him not only in his royal garb and armor, but also shirtless and fighting someone. We've also seen the image of him in a sheer, mesh crop top talking to Dr. Seldon.
The trailer also shows an alien monster, several different planets, giant statues, electric gloves, advanced cities, and warring armies. Season one of Foundation was epic, and season 2 looks even bigger and better.
Season 2 of Foundation begins summer 2023 on Apple TV+.
