Alain Pinon, co-owner of Salon AKS (SalonAKS.com) in Manhattan, is no stranger to David Bowie's transformations: He's been the singer's hairstylist for more than 20 years. "Bowie is someone who has done so much with such passion," Pinon says. "He's not afraid of change." Here, he gives us a few tips on how to achieve Bowie's most famous looks.
"For this, hair is much longer on top than on the sides. You can blow-dry your hair on low speed; move the hairdryer during the process to cool down the air and keep some moisture on your scalp. To style, use PHYTO Intense Volume Mousse ($29.50, 6.7 fl. oz.; PHYTO.com) for a slightly shiny, clean look.
