A number for 'A Real Hero' by The Jake Shears Band
Along with Madonna presenting Anderson Cooper with the Vito Russo award at the 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York, Jake Shears and Babydaddy from the Scissor Sisters put on a special performance in honor of the CNN anchor.
Shears sang an adjusted cover of "A Real Hero," a song from College (an electronic music project from French musician David Grellier) featuring Electric Youth, but he added a special verse he wrote for his longtime friend:
"Years pass which seem like days/ We're around the world in 80 ways/ But somehow, you stay yourself/Through fast and fractured time/If only everyone could choose to have a loyal friend like you."
All together now, aww!
Shears tweeted a photo of himself, Babydaddy, and the rest of "The Jake Shears Band," which he also said was a "one-night only" experience--although the current status of Scissor Sisters remains in limbo.
