Caitlyn Jenner is a goddess. Or at least she'll be something close on the next season of Transparent, according to showrunner Jill Soloway.
Soloway and the cast of Transparent talked to Variety on Sunday about Jenner's role on the upcoming season of Amazon's award-winning series.
"She's in a dream sequence. [Gaby Hoffmann's character] Ali has a kind of wild, nitrous-inspired goddess-worshiping dream sequence," Soloway said. "And you can't talk about the goddess without Ntozake Shange and Caitlyn Jenner who are both in the dream."
Shange is an African-American playwright and poet best known for writing the play for colored girls who have considered suicide / when the rainbow is enuf.
"She was great," Hoffman added when asked what it was like working with Jenner. "She was a total natural. She was funny. She was great at improvising."
"She floats all boats," star Jeffrey Tambor said of Jenner. "Everybody is better for this in the community because of her authentic decision and her courageous decision."
Tambor has been nothing short of effusive in his praise for Jenner, despite criticism from the trans community for being, among other things, out of touch.
Jenner's reality series I Am Cait was recently canceled after two seasons due to poor ratings.
