A Breakdown of Lil Nas X's Scandalous New Maury Episode

Queer love triangles, dramatic paternity test results...it’s the Maury episode we didn’t know we needed!

Lil Nas X is giving fans exactly what they want!

The Grammy-winning rapper recently teamed up with daytime talk show Maury for a scandalous (and hilarious) spoof based on his music video "That's What I Want."

In the 20-minute episode, entitled "Leave Your Wife for Me Today...That's What I Want," Lil Nas X appears as a football player named Montero (his actual real name) who has discovered that his boyfriend (played by real-life ex Yai Ariza) is married to a woman named Ashley, and the two have a child.

But that's just the beginning...

Things heat up as Montero confronts Ashley, revealing that he's been with Yai for a month and a half.

Confident that Yai's relationship with Ashley is no match for the love they share, Montero says, "He's only with me because he knows that baby isn't his."

After lots of screaming, arguing, and a few shed tears, Maury decides to get to the bottom of it. So how does the daytime host settle the truth behind this bitter love triangle? Do you really need to ask? A paternity test and a lie detector test, say no more.

The dramatic episode takes us on a rollercoaster with a new engagement, when it's revealed that Yai is not the father...and soon after, the ending of that engagement, since Montero learns that Yai has not been faithful.

It's unclear how much of the parody stems from reality, as Lil Nas X and Yai Ariza did, in fact, date IRL, but the two have amicably split up in recent weeks. The "Call Me By Your Name" singer even told SiriusXM Hits 1 recently, "We were dating... You know, we may date again..."

Fans might be waiting for the two to reconnect, especially after this steamy episode of Maury, but as X's hit song suggests, we can't always get what we want!
