Dan Levy's First 'Saturday Night Live' Clip Is Such a Tease

Dan Levy on Saturday Night Live preview

"Hi I'm Dan Levy and I'm hosting SNL with Phoebe Bridgers."

It's Daniel Levy's world and we are all just living in it!

Fresh off of debuting his first Super Bowl ad, the Schitt's Creek creator is gearing him for his Saturday Night Live hosting debut. The Golden Globe-nominated Levy was announced as an upcoming host last week alongside names like John Krasinski and Regina King. The night it set up to be quite LGBTQ+ inclusive with the Grammy-nominated Phoebe Bridgers set to be the musical guest. Levy's moment couldn't be coming at a better time.

"Hello I'm Dan Levy and I'm hosting SNL with Phoebe Bridgers," Levy said in a teaser clip.

"Yeah, and this one better be funny guys," cast member Aidy Bryant said. "Dan, I want to see big commitment out of you." And we're sure he'll give it.

Just last week, Saturday Night Live came under fire for some frankly lazy writing they called "jokes." In one moment they had Pete Davidson kiss Krasinski as a part of a skit -- because two men kissing is funny. Ha, ha, ha. It was criticized on social media both directly and indirectly.

"Every time I kiss another man, I laugh hysterically and say 'what is this a sketch,'" comedian Matt Rogers tweeted. "And then it trends globally!" But that lazy writing was only part of the show. In another segment, Michael Che turned trans bodies into a punchline.

"President Biden signed an executive order repealing Trump's ban on transgender people serving in the military," Che said during the segment. "It's good news, except Biden is calling the policy: 'don't ask, don't tuck,' which is not good news."

The comment was lambasted as transphobic and is honestly only the latest time Che has criticized for transphobic comment. In 2019 he intentionally misgendered Caitlyn Jenner.

Hopefully, Levy's episode will prove a salve of sorts for these blunders.
