Season 15 of RuPaul's Drag Race just got a dash of sweetener.
The one and only Ariana Grande will appear as the guest judge for the two-part premiere episode of Drag Race season 15, which has now permanently moved to MTV. Grande will appear in the two-episode premiere alongside RuPaul, Michelle Visage, and Ross Mathews as they get to meet this new cast of 16 fierce queens competing for the crown.
"The first episode will be commercial free, while the second episode will have limited commercial interruption, providing viewers with even more charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent," a release about the two-episode premiere of Drag Race season 15 reads. These will be back-to-back episodes airing on Friday, January 6 on MTV.
Ever since season nine, each season of Drag Race has welcomed a high-profile popstar for its grand premiere. These main pop girls have included Lady Gaga (season nine), Christina Aguilera (season 10), Miley Cyrus (season 11), Nicki Minaj (season 12), Lizzo (season 14 part one), and Alicia Keys (season 14 part two). The premiere of season 13 didn't feature a special guest judge due to lockdown safety protocols.
Grande will be the first celebrity guest to judge the star-studded cast of Drag Race season 15, which includes Amethyst, Anetra, Aura Mayari, Irene Dubois, Jax, Loosey LaDuca, Luxx Noir London, Malaysia Babydoll Foxx, Marcia Marcia Marcia, Mistress Isabelle Brooks, Princess Poppy, Robin Fierce, Salina EsTitties, Sasha Colby, Sugar, and Spice.
RuPaul's Drag Race season 15 premieres Friday, January 6 on MTV.

Grande previously appeared in the sixth episode of Drag Race season seven, "Ru-Hollywood Stories," when she was still an up-and-coming popstar. This particular episode aired in April 2015, so Grande had only released the Yours Truly and My Everything albums at that point.

The runway category for the episode was "Death Becomes Her." Violet Chachki walked the runway with an impossibly tiny waist that had Mama Ru gasping and Grande saying, "Oh my god!"

During Grande's first episode on Drag Race, the bottom two queens were Kandy Ho and Jaidynn Diore Fierce. They lip synced to "Break Free" and Ho was told to sashay away.

We couldn't think of anyone better than Grande to kick off the first-ever season of RuPaul's Drag Race on MTV. Thank Ru, Next!
