1. The whole cast
The show has one of the best ensemble casts in all of television. It stars Matt Berry, Kayvan Novak, Natasia Demetriou, Mark Proksch, and Harvey Guillen. Doug Jones and Kristen Schaal also appear, as well as guest stars like Beanie Feldstein, Nick Kroll, Dave Bautista, Vanessa Bayer, Tilda Swinton, Wesley Snipes, and Danny Trejo. Of course, Taika Waititi, Jemaine Clement, and Jonathan Brugh also reprise their roles as the vampires from the original movie.
2. Harvey Guillén as Guillermo
Our favorite character has to be the vampires' familiar-turned-bodyguard Gullermo. He's played by out actor Harvey Guillen in what's definitely an Emmy-worthy performance. Guillen is the heart of the series and is a delight to watch every single episode, whether he's showing off his fighting skills, being hilarious as a familiar, or being heroic as a bodyguard.
3. The vampires
All three of the main vampires on the show are hilarious, and all three are also queer! Lazlo and Nadja (Matt Berry and Natasia Demetriou) play a couple of vampire lovers who have been together for over a hundred years. But that doesn't stop them from sleeping with other people of all sorts of genders. With Nandor (Kayvan Novak) developing feelings for his familiar, and stating that he's had gay sex before, we've got one gay ass coven.
4. Nandermo
Did you know that WWDITS also has an all-time great slow burn romance? And that it's also gay? In the first season of the show, we're introduced to Guillermo, the docile and self-conscious familiar who works for the vampires, and specifically for Nandor. His goal is to one day be bitten by Nandor so he can reach his lifelong dream of becoming a vampire.
In the next two seasons, Guillermo finds out he's descended from the famous vampire hunter Van Helsing, has incredible skills, and is much more capable than he ever thought.
As his confidence builds, so does his relationship with Nandor, and by the third season, it's clear that the two have strong feelings for each other! Even the vampires' neighbors think Guillermo and Nandor are a couple.
The last season ended with Nandor and Guillermo planning a trip together, but Guillermo being tricked and nailed into a coffin instead. According to reports, in the upcoming season Nandor gets engaged, leaving Guillermo feeling pushed aside and jealous.
5. Lazlo and Nadja
Talk about a power couple! These hedonistic vampires are in love with each other, but also find plenty of time to give in to whatever other carnal desires they have. We love to see a Pan4Pan couple thriving on TV!
6. Taika Waititi
If you're not already on board, you should know that the show is executive produced by Clement, Waititi, and a group of others. Waititi is one of the hottest writers, directors, actors, and producers in Hollywood, having won an Oscar for writing Jojo Rabbit, a Grammy for the soundtrack to that film, and being nominated for Emmys for producing WWDITS and his voice performance in The Mandalorian.
He's also a producer and star on the best show of the year, Our Flag Means Death, where he plays the famous pirate Blackbeard. The show is essentially a romantic comedy between Blackbeard and another pirate, the former high society gentleman, Stede Bonnet. Waititi is also the writer and producer of the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, which is supposedly going to feature a queer romance for Tessa Thompson's character Valkyrie.
