All the LGBTQ+ Titles Coming Soon to HBO Max (If They Aren't Canceled)
HBO Max is proudly previewing its upcoming content!
HBO Max is giving us a look at their upcoming slate of shows, and it is queer as hell in here!
As we all worry about which shows are being canceled or removed from streaming, HBO Max wants to remind us of some of the content they still have. Because of that, the streamer has released a new trailer showing upcoming and new content on the platform.
While the trailer highlights two shows especially - House of the Dragon, which premiered this week, and The Last of Us, which will come out next year - it also shows plenty of other shows, including several with lots of queer content that we love.
Here's a breakdown of some of the gay shows we love that will be coming to HBO Max with new seasons soon.

House of the Dragon
HBO's new Game of Thrones prequel series stars nonbinary actor Emma D'arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, one of the people battling for control of the throne. The first episode has dropped, and fans have already noticed sapphic vibes between their character and her best friend Alicent Hightower, daughter of the Hand of the King.
The White Lotus
The second season of The White Lotus is coming, this time to the coast of Italy. The new season will take place at a different location for a White Lotus resort, and will feature returning character Tanya McQuoid (Jennifer Coolidge), as well as new actors like Haley Lu Richardson, Aubrey Plaza, and Theo James.
The Idol
This new series co-created by The Weeknd and Sam Levinson, along with Reza Fahim, is about a self-help guru and cult-leader who enters a complicated relationship with a rising pop star. It stars Lily-Rose Depp and The Weeknd, but also features Troye Sivan, Dan Levy, Hari Nef, and Anne Heche, in her last role before her death.
The Last of Us
The much-hyped TV adaptation of the beloved video game is almost here! The Last of Us follows a man named Joel (Pedro Pascal) as he helps guide a teen girl named Ellie (Bella Ramsey) navigate a post-apocalyptic world. In the games, Ellie is gay, and there's another gay character named Bill (Nick Offerman).
Our Flag Means Death
Everyone's favorite gay pirate romance is also coming back next year with an all new season! Our Flag Means Death season two will kick off with Stede and Ed separated and heartbroken. It should be one of the gayest seasons of television ever!
Los Espookys
The long-awaited second season of this terrifically weird comedy is coming soon to HBO Max! Created by and starring queer comedians Julio Torres and Ana Fabrega, Los Espookys follows a group of mostly queer friends who have a "horror group" where they use special effects and makeup to conjure up spooks and chills for various clients.
And Just Like That...
The trailer teases a new season of And Just Like That... coming next year. The spinoff of Sex and the City made waves for having Miranda come out as gay and start dating nonbinary podcaster Che Diaz (Sara Ramirez).
Hacks
We're very worried about the future of one of our favorite shows, Hacks, but in the HBO Max trailer, it says a new season is coming next year! We can't wait to see more!
Gossip Girl
The preview also advertises a "New Season" for several returning queer shows that we love, including the wild and diverse Gossip Girl reboot. Does this mean the shows are guaranteed to get another season? We hope so!
The Sex Lives of College Girls
Another show that the preview says has a "New Season" is The Sex Lives of College Girls. One of the titular girls, Leighton, is gay and came out to her friend Kimberly in the season finale.
Doom Patrol
Doom Patrol is a show we've been worried will be canceled because of the WB/Discovery merger, but here it says the show will have a "New Season." Queer characters on the show include Larry Trainor, Crazy Jane, and Danny the Street.
