Everything We Know About 'The White Lotus' Season 2 So Far
Here's what to look forward to in Season 2 of the HBO show:
Mike White's satirical comedy-drama The White Lotus shook the world when it premiered on HBO last summer. Following a group of travelers who visit an exclusive tropical resort in Hawaii, the series was lauded for its sharp humor, brilliant acting, and great characters. It also featured one of our favorite ass-eating scenes of all time.
But now that the first season is done, we're all waiting on bated breath for the second season. Thankfully, more and more information about the second season is coming out, and we've compiled it all for you in one convenient place.

1. There's a New Location
While the first season took place at a White Lotus resort in Hawaii, the next season will take place at the franchise's location in Sicily. The new season is being filmed at the San Domenico Palace, Taormina, a Four Seasons Hotel, as well as various other locations around Sicily.
2. Murray Bartlett Isn't Coming Back
At the SAG Awards red carpet, Variety asked season one star, Looking alum, and Screen Actors Guild Awards nominee Murray Bartlett if he was returning for the second season, or if his role was a one-season thing. "For me, it's beautiful that it stays that one special thing," he said. "But if they called me back for Season 3, I would not be saying no."

3. Jennifer Coolidge Is Returning
Season one standout Jennifer Coolidge is reportedly the only cast member coming back for the new season. She played the wonderfully weird billionaire Tanya McQuoid in the first season who was dealing with the recent death of her mother. She also connected with fellow resort-stayer Greg, but as his actor (Jon Gries) isn't coming back for the next season, it looks like the couple didn't last long. Haley Lu Richardson (Edge of Seventeen) has also joined the cast as Portia, a young woman who works for Tanya and is traveling with her.
4. There's a Brand New Cast
The new cast member we're most excited for in season two is Aubrey Plaza, who will be playing a character named Harper (just like her ex in Happiest Season!), the wife of Ethan (Will Sharpe), a couple vacationing with another married couple, played by Theo James and Meghann Fahy. Also joining the cast are F. Murray Abraham, Michael Imperioli, and Adam DiMarco as the Di Grasso family, an elderly man, his son, and grandson traveling together. Tom Hollander, Haley Lu Richardson, and Leo Woodall are also set to join.
5. There Will Be More Episodes Than Season 1
The first season of The White Lotus was a compact six episodes. We now know, however, that the upcoming season will be a little longer, coming in at seven episodes. We also learned that production on the season has started, so we hopefully won't have to wait too long for it!
