RuPaul appeared in a recent episode of The Rachael Ray Show to talk about the grand premiere of RuPaul's Drag Race season 15, which will feature none other than Grammy-winning pop icon Ariana Grande as the special guest judge.
During the interview, Ray asked RuPaul about the judges that would be featured during this season, prompting Mama Ru to gush over Grande's appearance as the very first judge of the season.
"Our first judge is Ariana Grande, who has been a fan of the show from the very beginning, and she is so much fun," Ru explained. "She has so much life and effervescence to her, she brings so much joy to it. That's another part of the show that I really enjoy: how the fans out there, they love it."
RuPaul concludes: "I've said this before. The show, at its core, is about the tenacity of the human spirit, which is timeless and ageless, and everybody alive understands what that tenacity is."
Grande was first featured as a guest judge on Drag Race season seven for an episode titled "Ru-Hollywood Stories." She certainly seemed like a big fan of the show and even gagged over Violet Chachki's gravity-defying small waist for the runway's "Death Becomes Her" theme.
Now, Grande is returning to the series as the main pop girl judge to open up a brand-new season of Drag Race. The stakes are even higher given that the show has moved to MTV, meaning that it is poised to reach a bigger audience than ever before.
Drag Race fans and Arianators can't wait for this Friday's double premiere of season 15.
RuPaul's Drag Race season 15 premieres Friday, January 6 on MTV.
