'Drag Race' Announced Another New Version—Here's All the 2022 Editions

2022 will be a landmark year for the ever-expanding 'RuPaul’s Drag Race' franchise, henny!

Fans from around the world haven't heard a thing about the so-called "Drag Race fatigue" as Mama Ru greenlights new versions of the series and introduces incredibly talented LGBTQ+ artists to a global audience. Besides the ongoing international editions getting new seasons, the Drag Race universe keeps expanding to different countries as well. As a matter of fact, just recently, Drag Race Belgique was just announced as the franchise's newest international spin-off, set to spotlight some of the best talent that Belgium's drag scene has to offer!

If you like drag - and Drag Race - 2022 will be a fantastic year for you. From brand-new international editions hosted by some of your favorite queens, to new seasons of shows you've already fallen in love with, there are a lot of werkrooms, Snatch Games, reading challenges, balls, and lip syncs for your life coming your way this year.

While it might be hard for certain fans to keep up with every single new season of Drag Race, there are also plenty of viewers who are being introduced to the series for the first time as these new international editions and spinoffs are announced. With All Stars 7 coming to an end, it's time to explore all of the upcoming shows fans are still looking forward to in 2022.

RuPaul’s Drag Race (Season 14)

The core RuPaul's Drag Race series kickstarted this year with season 14 on VH1. This cycle aired between January and April and ultimately crowned Willow Pill as America's Next Drag Superstar.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs. the World

Another season that has already come and gone in 2022 was the British spinoff RuPaul's Drag Race UK vs. the World. This All Stars-like series aired between February and March 2022. This was the first-ever "vs. the World" spinoff in the franchise - a format that is rumored to take place in other parts of the world as well in the near future.

Drag Race España (Season Two)

Fans were amazed by the level of talent featured on Drag Race Espana, and season two hasn't disappointed a single bit. In fact, viewers have fallen even more in love with the show during this second season. Drag Race Espana premiered in March on WOW Present Plus and is scheduled to end in May 2022.

RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 7

After a lot of speculation, the "all-winners" season of RuPaul's Drag Race is finally happening. This very special edition will be released as All Stars 7 and will be available for streaming on Paramount+ starting May 20. The "all-winners" cast features Raja (season three), Jinkx Monsoon (season fie), Yvie Oddly (season 11), Jaida Essence Hall (season 12), Monet X Change (All Stars 4), Trinity The Tuck (All Stars 4), Shea Coulee (All Stars 5), and The Vivienne (Drag Race UK season one).

RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race (Season Two)

RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race season two is also coming soon to television. The first season aired in 2020, and a second season has been confirmed to air in 2022! The season premieres with an all-new format (similar to the popular celebrity reality competition The Masked Singer) on August 12 at 8pm ET on VH1.

RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under (Season Two)

Season two of RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under has already been fully filmed, so it should arrive on WOW Presents Plus very soon. Season one's core judging panel - RuPaul, Michelle Visage, and Rhys Nicholson - are all confirmed to be back for season two.

Drag Race Belgique (Season One)

One of the newest international editions to be announced is Drag Race Belgique, which goes hand-in-hand with season 14's "it's chocolate" theme. Casting for the series is now open, but not much else is known about the series so far. Nonetheless, the Belgian edition of Drag Race is set to premiere in 2022 on WOW Presents Plus.

Canada’s Drag Race (Season Three)

One of the most successful international editions of the franchise has been Canada's Drag Race, which is hosted by Drag Race season 11 runner-up Brooke Lynn Hytes. Season three is currently underway, and the so-called "Queen of the North" is set to return as a judge. Like past seasons, the show will once again air on WOW Presents Plus in the US.

Drag Race France (Season One)

RuPaul's Drag Race season 12 star Nicky Doll has landed the prestigious position of hosting the upcoming Drag Race France series. This French edition is also scheduled for a 2022 release, but no official date has been released yet. Drag Race France will also be available for streaming on WOW Presents Plus.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK (Season Four)

BBC is currently producing RuPaul's Drag Race UK season four. The UK version of Drag Race has been a massive success not only for local viewers but also for fans around the globe. In many ways, one can consider Drag Race UK the most successful show within the franchise outside of its core U.S. seasons.

Drag Race Italia (Season Two)

Drag Race Italia made its official debut in 2021, and a second season is already slated for 2022. As of this writing, season two of Drag Race Italia is in its casting process. This series will be on WOW Presents Plus for fans in the U.S. and on Discovery+ for viewers in Italy.

Drag Race Philippines (Season One)

One of the most pleasant surprises to come out of 2022 was the announcement of Drag Race Philippines. This brand-new series is also scheduled to air this year on WOW Presents Plus on August 17, with popular Filipino actor/comedian/drag performer Paolo Ballesteros as host and season 4 alum Jiggly Caliente and KaladKaren serving as judges, the first time two trans women have been recurring judges in a Drag Race franchise.

Drag Race Thailand (Season Three)

It's been three years since season two of Drag Race Thailand aired on TV. After a long period of radio-silence in regard to the series, it seems like season three will finally come out in 2022. After the incredible run that Pangina Heals had on Drag Race UK vs. the World, there's more hype than ever behind the Thailand show.

Canada’s Drag Race: Canada Versus the World

There's still no premiere date yet, but Canada's Drag Race: Canada Versus the World is coming to our TVs in 2022. This new international All Stars season is expected to premiere after season three of Canada's Drag Race wraps. So far, what we know is that this season will feature queens from various different Drag Race franchises and will be judged by Brooke Lynn Hytes, Brad Goreski, and Traci Melchor.

Drag Race Sweden (Season One)

Another new international edition scheduled for this year is Drag Race Sweden. Not much is known about this version so far, but it will premiere in 2022 on WOW Presents Plus.
